howdy Ken.
actually, the MP7 ROM is slightly different than the Pure Phatt ROM, and the
patterns for the MP7 do not work with the Pure Phatt. this could be
considered by many to be a bona-fide bummer.
on a ROM related note - i just bought the Protozoa and the Ensoniq Project
ROMs (only $79 apiece!) from E-mu. i've head the old Proteus modules and
i've also heard that the Protozoa reproduces those same exact sounds with
little if any change in tone. but i'm buying the Ensoniq Project ROM on
faith, hoping that it might approximate the Ensoniq Real World and Urban
Dance Project ROMs for the MR series of keys/modules. a friend had an MR
Rack (still worth getting for it's always-on multi mode - real easy) with
these ROMs and they sounded swell. i seem to recall that each of those ROMs
was 24mb or so of samples apiece. so, given the cut down from 48mb of
samples to 32mb, what was sacrificed? does anyone know?
also, does anyone have this ROM? does it sound any good? why doesn't E-mu
have MP3 demos of the expansion ROMs that aren't used in separate modules?
