XL-7 plus Sounds of the ZR bug?

XL-7 plus Sounds of the ZR bug?

2003-10-06 by robertabrownjr

I am curious to know if anyone else with a "Sounds of the ZR" ROM in
their XL-7 has this problem.

Turn on the XL-7 and go to patch/preset mode.
Turn on "Audition" to listen to patterns that demonstrate the patch
sounds.
Scroll through a few sounds and things should sound normal.
Got to bank 0 of the ZR ROM and scroll to patch 70.

On my machine this patch causes all sounds to become truncated, as if
the sustain and decay have been chopped down. Once you play patch 70
of the ZR ROM while Audition is on you cannot play any patches
normally. Changing patches does not help. The sound is always
truncated. Playing the pads or a keyboard still gives you truncated
sounds. The problem will not go away unless you either power down or
you change to some other mode such as pattern play. There are a few
other patches on the ZR ROM that trigger this problem and it is
repeatable. I have not noticed this phenomenon from any other ROM in
my XL-7.

Can someone confirm this bug? I am using the latest OS in my XL-7.

Robert

Just tried what you say, no problemo here.

OS2.0, ZR76 (QROM) in the second slot (next to the XL-7 ROM).

Thanks. Tonight I moved my ZR ROM from the XL-7 to the P2500 and
moved my Beat Garden ROM from the P2500 to the XL-7. The ZR ROM does
not exhibit the problem when using Audition on the P2500. None of
the other ROM's in the XL-7 has this problem.

Strange.

Move to quarantaine

This moves the raw source file on disk only. The archive index is not changed automatically, so you still need to run a manual refresh afterward.
