Emu XL-7 & MP-7 User's Group

Is there a way to start the XL-7 with the last pattern which was in use? 
or have I to start with pattern 1 and scroll up to my user pattern?

When I delete all Notes, events and so on at a track, why is the led for 
the track still on?  is there a way to switch it off?
