Emu XL-7 & MP-7 User's Group

Since you seem to be able to map almost anything to anything, are 
there some controllers that are better than others? Or any tips on 
using these?

I generally use predefined standards in two categories:
(1)  midi standards (pan, vol, espression, modulation, etc.)
(2)  machine/manufacturer conventions/defaults

If I need idiosyncratic CC #s, I make sure not to conflict with other 
machine/manufacturer defaults, UNLESS I want one controller to affect 
different parameters on different pieces of equipment.
