Hey guys.. Is there any way to import user arps via eloader or sysex. I have some patterns I've created and don't want to have to program them in note by note again.?.

Nope, you'll have to program them. If you know what they are alrady
though, it should only take a matter of minutes. Thinking of them is
always the most time-consuming part for me.

Hmm, it's possible I guess, not too sure how that would work though... rEalm DoH! thats what i was afraid of...I got curiuos when I d/l the XL1 prestes for XL-7 and it added a few user arps. so I was hoping there was some crazy sysex thing i could do to get them in there.. There's no way to convert a sequencer pattern to an arp pattern. There is, however, a sysex dump that will save arp patterns and restore them. I'm not sure if this is what you want it to do; sorry, the name collision between sequencer patterns and arp patterns is confusing. The 4th screen in the Arp menu is SEND MIDI SYSEX DATA which can be used to dump and restore arp patterns. -Aaron __________________________________ Do you Yahoo!? Yahoo! This SHOULD work tho right? Is the protAudSysEx21 the best place to start or is there another document you would recomend..

You're brave. =) Yes, this is possible, but you'll have to do some serious programming. Also note that you'll be limited by the different format (i.e. durations, monophonic, repeats, etc). > Is the protAudSysEx21 the best place to start or is there another > document you would recomend.. Yep, that's the one. The dump format is pretty simple, so even if the Sysex doc doesn't detail it, it should be pretty obvious from a dump. (well, obvious to someone who's brave enough to be writing a sysex tool of this magnitutde!) You'll be my (and Sean's) hero if you manage do get this to work! -Aaron __________________________________ Do you Yahoo!? Yahoo! The explanation is on p 78 of SysEx Manual v. 2.2 [pdf] (the next to the last page not including "the back cover"), I think its there (in the back)in manuals v 2.1 and v 2.0 also. EG For remote control session: rotary event: main encoder 7F 7F = counterclockwise knob turn one notch (i.e., -1) 00 7F = counterclockwise knob turn 128 notches (i.e., -128) sample application: If front panel is (1) at pattern view menu (2) with the cursor at the pattern number position (3) showing 127-7 as the current pattern, then 00 7F will simluate counterclockwise main encoder turns to 127-6. 00 7E will simulate counterclockwise main encoder turns to 127-5. 01 78 will simulate counterclockwise main encoder turns to 000-0. [In short, LSB MSB nibblized 2's compliment] Not sure if all other parameters follow the same LSB MSB order. I seem to recall some varaitions. Hope this helps. Dr. Steve

Steve's right. It's 14-bit, two's complement. Note that this is EVIL. I can't count the number of times I get that crap wrong... -Aaron > > --- In xl7@yahoogroups.com, "kevinj_j" <kevinj_j@y...> wrote: > > negative edit parameter values are you using 2's compliment > --- steve_the_composer <smw-mail@...> wrote: > > [In short, LSB MSB nibblized 2's compliment] > > Not sure if all other parameters follow the same LSB MSB order.
