Emu XL-7 & MP-7 User's Group

I was working on a tune ....Stopped for Dinner ... Came Back... Tweaked the Mix a Tad ... Hit Save Pattern .... It said Saving Pattern .... It hung up Got Stuck you know the deal... I waited a couple of minutes.... it still was hung up  ....Power switch would not shut it down ... Switched off main power ... waited ... fired it back up....powered up normal at first ...Then all of a sudden it said .... BACKING UP FILES....( i have never seen this).... then it went to ... COMPACTING FILES ( which it has done before)....It then settled down.... EXCEPT EVERYTHING IS GONE.....AND I MEAN EVERYTHING !!   No Songs... No Patterns... No Names ....The only thing left are the presets ....otherwise  the machine works fine ... other than I lost all of my stuff and all of the pre-programmed stuff....

I have never saved to the computer because I was waiting to finish up a few things before taking the risk of losing the stuff while attempting to save for the first time ...I also have not upgraded the OS for the same reason (1.32).... I have NEVER hook the mp-7 up to the computer at all >

Am I BEAT LIKE TINA TURNER ?

That sucks man, you are definitely SOL on this one.  Never wait to back up 
(make it a constant habit), but I'm sure you know that now...
