Emu XL-7 & MP-7 User's Group

Hello Group I'm Larry and I have an MP-7 and I am trying to record 
into the MP7's sequencer from a Yamaha QY100 via MIDI keyboard 
controller. I set MIDI EXT on Mp7, and from MP7 MIDI IN to QY100 MIDI 
OUT. When I hit record on MP7 and start the QY100 I get 8 QY tracks 
recorded into one channel (the one I'm recording) on the Mp7. What is 
the MIDI setting to record individual tracks into the MP7 from an 
external source and not 8 on one channel?
The reason I'm doing this is because I have songs in the QY100 that I 
would like to add some track from the MP7 to play along making it a 
32 track playback. 16 from QY and 16 from MP7.
Also does anyone knows how to multi record individual midi tracks 
into the MP7 from another sequencer? My QY100 will but can the MP7?

The XL-7 can only record into one track at a time.  HOWEVER, each track
can contain up to 16 MIDI channels.  Set the current track to be MultiA
(or B) and do your recording.  If you then want to break those channels
out to tracks, use the Explode clipboard command (see the 2.0 addendum
for more info on how to use it).
