Roms which would you suggest.
Firstly I do not mind obviously digital sounding textures.
Secondly I love to program my own sounds.
I like stuff like autechre ,mouse on mars ,orbital ,blackdog ,visions
of shiva and a lot of obscure electronica .
My thought's where PX rom -extra drums ,Vinatge Rom -lots of raw
waveforms from the classics to mangle at will. And either the Beat
Garden ,Techno , or XL-7 boards .
Which do you feel would best suit that style sonically ???
Any replies greatly appreciated.
Oh yes and lastly if I have synths connected to the sub outs as
inputs do they output through the SP/DIF digital out also ?
Thanx

I have a Techno card for sale if you are interested. Make me an
offer. Great 808/909 kits as well as other drums. Very good basses
and pads too. A lot of nice raw material to use for custom sounds,
a lot better than the MP7 raw sounds in my opinion.

I dont belive they will run out the digital out since that would
require an extra converter.

If you really love to program your own sounds, then the choice of ROM
is not critical; you'll presumably be doing most of your work with the
synthesis architecture.

[Having said that, even though I do a lot of sound/effects processing
(two Nord MicroModulars and two Korg OasysPCI's) I do have a
fully-populated XL-7, since most commissions require very fast
prototyping of ideas and for that you really need a large sample
library. For full-on electronica though, the sample selection is
really only a small part of the whole process.]

Yes but you still need the raw waveforms to work with and the ROMs
really help here.

Move to quarantaine

This moves the raw source file on disk only. The archive index is not changed automatically, so you still need to run a manual refresh afterward.
