Yes indeed that certainly could. If that is true, then I could put 
say one event on each of the channels that I want to use externally, 
then, I assume, I could copy info from another file in there - yeah, 
that would be perfect. 
Will have to give it a go when I get home tonight.

This moves the raw source file on disk only. The archive index is not changed automatically, so you still need to run a manual refresh afterward.
