Thanks SO MUCH for the reponses. The OMS tip hit the nail on the head. In the 6 or 7 years I've been using FreeMIDI, this is the 1st time it has unsuccessfully emulated OMS. Using OMS is a crucial detail (for Mac users)--perhaps worthy of inclusion in the next FAQ--which has already proven EXCELLENT. I've printed a hard copy and taped it the wall in my studio.
