I would get the MP-7 then get a World Rom and a Vintage Rom. I already have the new Electribe MX and SX-1's on order >>>PLease let us know your thoughts on the SX-1 when it arrives (assuming you're still here). Been eye that one myself. <<< Will the unit sync to both Midi Clock and MMC ? >>>No only MIDI clock. ,<< Is the sequencer fairly intuitive and easy to use. >>>Definitely the most intuitive sequencer I've ever used, except for the Electribes. But I think that comparison is unfair as the two are very different in terms of capabilities. <<< Is pattern chain mode glitch free. >>>Yes. <<< What is the soundset like "as standard in an MP-7". Does hive enough raw synth waveform material to get pretty experimental with? >>>Definitely lots of potential, you get plenty of raw waveforms and drum sounds. Each Preset (patch in Emu speak) can use up to 4 layers of waveforms (and 24 virutal patchcords for each layer), and you can link up to 3 presets together too. The synthesizer is definitely top notch. <<< Sound quality - drums ,percussion and bottom end on bass parts. >>>Good, the low end on the basses really surprsied me, very deep, yet not too muddy while still being smooth. The drums are pretty darn good, with the new Drum ROM they're even better. <<< Strings ,pads and the like. >>>PLenty of those too. <<< In a rutt compositionally with the RS7000 and looking at the options. >>>My friend's the pro audio manager at the local Guitar Center store, and a long time devote of the RS7000. I finally convinced him to try the XL-7 for an extended period of time and he said he'll never go back. He misses the integrated sampling, but if you've got that covered than you should be fine. <<< So what do you think ? >>>We're obviously a bit biased here, so that's not a fair question :) <<< rEalm [Non-text portions of this message have been removed]
