Unless others agree with you, I think it would be better to have the 
technical discussion (give and take) elsewhere with pithy concrete 
applications presented here.  Can you set up a poll?  Give it a 3-4 
day limit.  If more people want technical discussion of sysex here, 
I'll do it.  (Just so long as people who correct me if I make an 
exploratory mistake are polite.  I don't want a repeat of what grew 
out of a rebuke to a suggestion I made a few weeks back.  8-)> )
