Within that menu, you have submenus: tempo, preset, volume, pan, mix, arp, & fx. 2. Each of these has options: song events only, 1st pattern only, all patterns, songs & patterns. Due to the wonderful complexity and flexibility of the Command Stations you can configure all sorts of permutations. In song mode, the event source menu says, "Whatever else you've got going on with all the tempo, preset, volume, pan, mix, arp & fx settings, FOR THIS SONG, use the settings here! Only pay attention to those settings I allow you to use here," It's as if when playing songs, the EVENT SOURCE is in charge and has the choice to override (or not) changes in tempo, preset, etc. that may exist within the components of the song. In other words, the EVENT SOURCE is in the driver's seat. Perhaps a more apt metaphor is that of a system administrator who grants privileges. Hope this helps. Dr. Steve
