well, we have a pretty good synth architecture in the xl, even with those dated presets, i would think you could make something pretty 'new'...i'm only beginning to get into its many different filters and stuff...cool and weird stuff can happen...fun. i guess used creatively, just about anything can sound 'new'...maybe i'm a bit strange, but as soon as i fiddle with a synth...in the stores or anywhere else, i start messing with the settings and such...presets never quite feel 'right' to me...hmm...well, back to the beats...
