RE: [xl7] MIDI in and out leds flashing all the time, arps breaking up! help!

2003-06-21 by Andre Lewis

Hi Omur,
What may be going on is when cubase starts it is either echoing all the notes
from from your xl7 back to your xl7 and or starting the sequencer on the xl7.
Try turning off midi echo in Cubase. Also try changing the output from the xl7
to the other output port.

Hope this helps
Andre

Subject: [xl7] MIDI in and out leds flashing all the time, arps breaking
up! help!

Hi I'm new to the group. My name is Omur and I'm from Amsterdam. I've
got my XL-7 for a couple of months now.

Couple of days ago I updated the OS to 2.0. I did it because of the
USB functionality. It's a wonder why they didn't include it in OS
1.0. I haven't had time to really study the manual. But I don't
really need to since I use it only as a sound module and hardware
controller for Reason. Couple of questions:

Is it normal that the midi in led flashes constantly? I've got a
Midex 8 midi interface. My RM1x's midi in led does not flash. Cubase
5.1 is my midi sequencer. Somehow the midi out on led on the XL-7
starts to light when I start playback in cubase.

The worst part is that my arps start to break up! This was not the
case with OS 1.31. Anyway, why should the midi in led flash when ther
is no midi activity at all. Could it be beacuse of my midex 8?

I would really like to go back to OS 1.31. Does anybody still have
it? Can somebody please mail it to me? I seem to have lost mine.
Thanks.
