I agree, this happened to me too, although I certainly did NOT lose my
User data at all! Something may be wrong with your unit, it shouldn't be
deleting User Data like that during a compaction....

It would be nice if the command station could warn you when you are

close to needing to compact space. I tried to do it manually and it
wouldn't
let me because it was not nessisary yet and then a little while later it
locked up and when I rebooted it compacted and erased all y user patterns
and songs! This is the third time this has happend!
AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHH! Luclky I back up! Still its a pain in the
ass. I did notice that when it started up it says making backup... what is
it backing up? is there some way after this type of thing to restore my
data
from what ever it was backing up? I would be scared to death to depend on
this thing live. Maybe its user error, I don't know?
I still love it...
