You make good points. I love buying gear that is just (or soon-to-be) discontinued. Not only do you get the product at the best price in its life cycle, you get the latest version of the OS, the most user support, the most free patches, and the most free assistance you could want. I actually bought the Proteus 2000 when it first came out, and promptly returned it due to a by-design issue which made it completely useless for me. Fortunately for Emu, they changed their design in a future free OS release, but I had already purchased something else by that time. In the case of the XL-7, they just released a free new OS with cool new features. I couldn't be more pleased. While initially I bought the thing mainly due to its low price, I'm finding I enjoy it much more than I expected I would. -Brian --- In xl7@yahoogroups.com, "lostusomewhere2003" <Chicaneblue@h...> wrote: > Well, with everyone so keyed up about discontinued products...i ask, > what's the big deal?
