That would be a nice feature.  Because Pasting is a merge feature and not 
a replace one (bummer sometimes), you need to use Cut to remove measures 
you don't want.  I try and Cut stuff I don't need before I Copy a measure 
to the Clipboard for the very reasons you mention!  Not a big deal, but a 
weird one...

Sometimes the cut command must be used to remove tracks 'n stuff... 
but then you'll loose what you already have in the clipboard, and 
sometimes that's not good :(

Perhaps you should add an "remove" option that works like "cut" but 
doesn't overwrite what's already in the clipboard.
