but on the box's part, it works very well, realtime quantize...

you go to the trak you want to record into, then you hit record, then you play, then you listen (it's quantized), then you "unswitch" the record button.
then you choose another trak, you play.......

all what makes a big reason to get it.

  Records grooves when playing live? Say you have a groove going and 
  playing some leads with a keyboard controller and you play something 
  you liked.... Is the record while playing back on the Emu station 
  fluid enough to do that on the go while in a middle of a live set? or 
  do you need to go back and edit in most cases to make the playback of 
  the phrase right?
