how do you get to the instruments?

2003-06-13 by Jeff Gronich

How can you play the "instruments" individually without layers or presets. There seems to be a lot of them!!!

Subject: [xl7] Emu customer support and my USB troubles any solutions?

I cannot get XP to recognize the XL-7 with the USB port. Below is the
e-mails to Emu customer support. All they can offer is it must be
windows XP. Why would I need to re-install windows. I tried the
correct proceedure on 3 different computers running XP and all the
same error. It says the USB driver for the XL-7 does not contain the
proper info about the device. I know you don't need the USB port, but
it would be nice since it's on the machine. Any helful hints.

  Thanks
  Mike

It sounds like the problem is on the Windows end.
If you have not followed the installation steps precisely in the
  Eloader
manual and read me file then you will need to reinstall Windows in
  order
to solve the problem. Then go through the reinstallation steps again
  per
the ELoader manual and Read me file.

No, loader does not see the Xl7 with only usb attached. The only
  options
input and output are MPU-401. I tried reloading all the older OS in
sequence up to the new 2.0 but still nothing. I also tried 2
  different
computers (laptop & desktop with XP) and the same thing happens. Is
  this
  a
  bad USB port?
