Emu XL-7 & MP-7 User's Group

You do need an Ultra series Emu sampler to do this.  You do need Flash
ROM to do it.  Using a standard SIMM won't work for a number of
reasons, not the least of which Dynamic RAM SIMMs won't hold a single
bit once they are powered off, let alone moved from machine to machine.

The cost of the ROM probably stems from the fact that they are

1) Single Source
2) Low volume (few are being made)

That being said, if you have your own samples it is a pretty wonderful
thing to use in an XL-7
