Emu XL-7 & MP-7 User's Group

Hi and thanks for letting me join. Does anyone have any good IDIOT 
PROOF, detailed instructions on how to get my MP-7 to communicate 
with my PC. I accidently reinitialized it with prompt 16 (lost all 
my patterns and songs) instead of using prompt 17. I am trying to 
restore the MP-7 back to factory specs and cannot get the eloader to 
communicate with the pc. I have both midi ends plugged into the back 
of the mp7 and have the other end plugged into the joystick port of 
the pc. The MP-7 is set at sysex device 000 and channel 01A....what 
software do i use on the pc to set the info up at or to communicate 
with the mp-7? When i get to eloader and set midi up,it asks for my 
input port. I have two choices 1)none... AND 2) MPU-401.... which 
should i use?
For my output options i have...
1) none
2) Microsoft GS Wavetable Synth
3) mpu-401
which one of these?
I truly apologize for asking for the help, i have searched emu and 
the web for some basic Midi sites for hookup info and came up with a 
whole lot of nothing. I feel like HELL !!! I just got this thing 
today and have erased it already ARGHHHHHHH !!

Thanks for any help, if you have any step by step dummy proof 
instructions on how i can communicate with this and reload the 
patterns and songs I WOULD GREATLY APPRECIATE IT !
