First off, thanks Sean for getting back to me on the "arm pattern"
thing. It is good to hear that there is a fix in the works.
Do you know how long it might be before we see it? Oh ya, I don't
wan't to be a pest but do you know if there is going to be some kind
of list editer in the new os?

OK back to the topic.

"hey ive been lurking trying to learn about this badboy, didn't post
'cause i don't know much yet. I dropped by Mars today and had a
chance to play around with mp7. the sound quality was great but
I didn't know my way around it so could only audition the presets.
They had a xl7 on display but not hooked up.I do hope that more
users will post their knowledge here. is anybody knocked out by
this baby? do ya love it-or no?-----and why?"

"So, how are the other users here finding it?"

I am loving it! Other than the "arm pattern" problem and the lack of
a list editer or some other way to add program changes to my external
gear. But I have faith in E-MU and they are working on it already so
it is just a matter of time.

This is the the best external sequencer i could buy for under
$3000.00.
the only way I think might beat it would be to run a at least two
Doepfer schaltwerk's together, but that is not sompthing i have tried
so i am speaking withought hands on expearience. (The main reason i
say that is based mainly on the the fact that there is a button for
evry function on that box and that is nice for live work).

So why do i sey that, well i think the easiest way to put it is in
point form so lets see......

1. you don't have to use a computer OS
2. it has 2 midi outs with a total of 32 midi chanals
3. there is no cap on the sequencer
4. i couldent find another sequencer that would alow me to record on
the fly (and yes i plan on using this in live work)
5. the keypads are volosity and aftertouch sensitive (dam why can't i
spell?!)
6. unlike sompthing like a RM1x i can move through 896 patterns
withought having to stop or have a glitch (new os pending)
7. 16 dedicated knobs to controll the synth, as well as a didacated
glide (portamento) button.
8. the synth is massive
9. six outputs, four of witch can be used as FX send/returns(that is
verry smart you guys at E-MU, thank you for thinking of that one!)
10. it is expandable
11. the thing is built like a tank, not like a MC-505 or RS7000
12. i can add 16 or 32 MB ram cards and burn my own samples using my
E5000 sampler. (again, thank you guys at E-MU for another great idea!
ill leave the mixer and the sampler at home when i play live now)

well that is about it for my shamless loving of the box at hand.

There are a few things that i wish where in there i will take this
time to mention them, mainly becouse i have the time right now, love
that weekend :)

Mike's wish list

1. it would be great to be able to use the pattern quantize edit
featuers on only selected tracks within a pattern
2. same thing with the volosity edit featuers
3. a list type editor
4. and no matter what i do or how much i beg it it just won't make me
expresso when i wake up :P

" Is anyone planning on using the record button in a live situation?
I've been thinking about this - laying down basslines and melodies
from my ztar, and having them loop. Would that be cool? Hmm, looks
like it's going to be another late night :> Let see how it goes.

   ----- > Ric"
please let me know how it went, i am curious how you are finding it.

well that's it for me today

peace ya all
