Emu XL-7 & MP-7 User's Group

Both are the same price so now my last decision before I finally get 
one is keyboard or command station.Are the sounds and specs the same 
for both?Does the keyboard have a sequencer? And on on the command 
station can you turn off the touch velocity on the pads? Im looking 
at the add and wondering how would I record chords and melodys with 
this? Would I need a midi keyboard with me all the time?
