Emu XL-7 & MP-7 User's Group

so my local music store somehow finally got both command 
stations...unfortunatly the keyboard guy is an assholel.  at least to me.  but that 
would be due to past altercations.  in any case, i was jamming along on the 
mp7.  in a past post i said that the presets sounded week in the mp3's i had 
downloaded from the emu site...the songs i heard on the iuma site assured 
me that you can pull great sounds off of it.  so props to all who entered songs 
in that contest.  however...the mp7 does have some fun presets.  i do have a 
question though.  i am used to primarily roland products, and there sound 
layering.  at my first run on the mp7  i found some sounds that sounded like 
they were layered, but i didnt know how to select say "tone 1" and just mess 
with that...can you guys tell me how to quickly disect sounds on these boxes, 
so i can make an informed decision about buying one...i do have to say, my 
stomach got a little tingly while playing with it.  i love the music store.  i want 
my living room to look like the music store. anyway i am rambling now  peace.
