You're just trying to use the sub outs with an external effects processor/sound module right? And your return signal is always mono? The only other thing I would do, is make sure your TRS cords are set up to transmit stereo the same way teh XL-7 is. It should be fairly standard I would think, but some manufaturers might make the differences in which part of the plug carries left and right channel information. Actually looking at page 19 in the manual, it looks like you don't need TRS cord, but just regular patch cords. The Tip is the send, and the Ring is the return. My guess is that your external gear isn't set up this way :) You might need to make special cords to interface with your other gear because of this, since most gear uses the Ring as ground. Kind of surprising that this isn't mention in the manual actually. Maybe one of those special Insert Y-cables made by Hosa and the like for Mixer Insert channels would do the trick? Let me know if you need help tracking one down... rEalm I tried switching the main outputs to mono pach cords and still the same thing. Just don't get it.
