Arpeggiators is very common, I suppose every virtual analogue synth nowdays has it, and it's definetly a really useful feature. I can't say I like the pattern arpeggiators of the XX-7's, but since it also has more than all features of a standard arpeggiator, it is *really* useful. I found a quite nice explanation here (http://www.myatari.net/issues/aug2001/arp_art.htm): "What is an arpeggiator? Basically it takes notes from a chord and strings them together as individual notes to form patterns. These patterns are usually played ascending (up), descending (down), both ascending and descending, or in some instances, in a random order. You can also adjust the speed in which the patterns are played. This allows the musician to perform arpeggiation effects simply by holding down a chord, or playing in some notes. This is very different to the auto-accompaniment consumer keyboards available in today's retail outlets." //Nifflas --- In xl7@yahoogroups.com, "soseriousboutmine" <thabayplaya@y...> wrote: > Wassup yall I bought my XL-7 its being shipped and Im new 2 > synthesizers and shyt..I read tha manual in erthang but I was > wonderin: > > -I ordered an XL-1 but it comes with tha MoPhatt sound rom since I > guess the manufacturer swapped it cuz it will sell tha rest of the > units will it come with the 2.0 OS or I still have to upgrade it? > > - What is an Arppregiator? > -What exactly does it do..? > -how is it most commonly used in musik? > > > > the more I know of whut its used for gives me a better idea of how to > use it. > > thanx
