Man, some roland manuals are almost comedic with the amount of gibberish in them. The vm3100 pro(with the studio pack, my recording setup.) is so bad it has brought me to tears on several occasions. How they get away with laughably bad manuals, ill never know.

The problem with trying this on the Roland board is that you have to do it in the same language that their manuals are written in if you want to be understood. To whit:
"Make the whole multiple pattern set play again, so quickly that the ending left of it is not yet finished!"

I thought you might get a kick out of this message from the Roland web
site message board. It appears there customers have EMU envy...read
the following message to the Roland staff.

So I was trying to play my SP808EX live last night with a female
vocalist. I concluded that with a song loop function the SP808 would
be the ultimate sampling machine on the market. Without song loop the
unit is rather retarded as one cannot keep a beat looping on a pad
while sampling to another pad. The only way to hear your
beats/vocals/other recordings is to make a very very very long track
with the prerecorded parts. Again this is too difficult on the fly
without dropping the beat. WHY CANT WE HAVE SONG LOOP!!!!!
EMU just came out with a fabulous new OS for their command stations
incorporeating features and suggestions from the Yahoo EMU group. Is
it possible that if we all ####### loud enough we can get roland to do
the same???
sincerely
Drew
