Emu XL-7 & MP-7 User's Group

Hey this is a newbee question. I just got the Mp7 yeasterday. I've 
got laying patterns down looping, but I'm use to sequencing in 
Cubase SX. How do I copy and cut out of patterns while there looping 
to extend the bars. Or should this be done in song mode. If there is 
a way please help. I'm so use to recording instruments from midi to 
audio on seprate tracks recording one measure and looping as many 
times as I want. also cutting were I don't want that instrument. 
It's a big change ouch!!!
