Ditto, it's all in the layering. By themselves, single layers are a tad weak, but get two or three drum sounds happening at once and you can get some really powerful drums that way. It's easier for me to just add new layers to the drum preset and use the layer Transpose settings to find the right drum sounds. Then you don't have to worry about having 3 midi notes for each kick drum, etc. rEalm I know what you mean, the presets are a bit weak in places for the drums, but with a lot of layering, filtre settings, and patchcords etc the drums can be quite good in the XL ROM....
