i.e. i have a cool delay going with a 
> beautiful synth on track 9, and i'm ready to do a basic drum 
loop, 
> but i can't figure out how to keep it from delaying.  

Whichever send you have the drumloop assigned to - ( GLOBAL, 
- MIX OUTPUT).... make sure this send has a setting of ZERO in 
the FX SEND AMOUNTS.. that should do it.....good luck
