Actually, that sounds pretty annoying. But there is some heavy duty fun that can be had with the modulation of sample start point parameter. If you have a waveform that is a set of sources stacked (like say 8 of them) doing a PPG / Walforf style sweep. The sample is about 2 seconds and loops, but it more or less goes through this spectral mutation along the way. Then you make a preset to run with an arp, so it is short and sort of percussive, make a bit of decay with some delay as well. Then have a tempo locked LFO move the sample start point around, what happens is that the timbre of the sound changes over time (say the LFO is set to 4 measures). Pretty wild effect as the character of the sound is changing dramatically. All of this without using the filter at all.
