Emu XL-7 & MP-7 User's Group

Make sure you are backing up your patterns! My MP7 crashed last night and I
lost ALL OF MY USER PATTERNS  and ALL of the factory patterns, not that I
care about those, but I do care about the 6 months worth of material that I
was only able to recover part of. I wouldn't be extremely concerned but all
the user presets reverted to the factory settings, so even if all my
patterns were retrievable all the presets would be WACK! We really need a
way to back up presets as well (hint hint). Has this happened to any one
else.

I was working on some really dope tracks and I tried to save during play
back and the machine locked up and made a noise like it was stuck on a note
over the top of the pattern continuing to play. I had to shut it off. When I
powered up again it said "User data not initz" or something like that, then
it did the compressing space thing. when it was done I had zero data left in
the box. No patterns, songs, or saved user presets!

I have made a few new presets and patterns. When a pattern is playing and I
try and switch to the next pattern the display sticks, instead of just
changing instantly to show that the selected pattern would play next
everything sticks for a bit with the enter button staying lilt and the
screen not changing until after the next pattern has already started. When
the display finally changes is kind of scrolls out one letter at a time like
it is really struggling to keep up. When I hit record it takes a while to
activate. The whole system seams bogged down.
