RE: [xl7] RE:MP7 sequencing

Thanks outlaw, I appreciate the insight. I have not done much with
sampleing so I have not used the gigasampler. May do so in the future
though, I do own a copy.

There is nothing like a drum machine for laying down quick ideas. More
importantly I use Sonar and it's great, but for drum programming (at
least
the initial idea) Drum Machines have sonar beat. I have a MP-7 and won't
look
back to recording, re-recording, and re-re-recording in Sonar to get
that
tight sound Drum Machines provide. Yes, the quantize featuer is tight in

Sonar. But the grid on a Drum Machine sequencer is Flawless. I create my

initial patterns on the MP-7 then transfer the midi file to Sonar, and
trigger the MP-7. I actually thought about going to the MPC series again

(once owned the MPC 3000) but went with the Mp-7 since I wasnt going to
use
it for no more then a drum machine. For Sampling purposes I use
Gigastudio
96, and trigger those drum sounds(imported from my Akai S5000 library)
as
well with the MP-7. For Voices, String and everything else I use an
external
keyboard. Needless to say with the 2 combined you have a very powerful
Sampler/ Drum Machine. Try that with any MPC Series, Groove box,
Etc....Throw
in a GigaTranslator and I'm importing/exporting - to/from other Sampler
Formats as well.
whew.....
Hope that helps
