Couldn't agree more!! I have owned an EX5 from it's first week of release and although I still love this synth, there are some serious issues that Yamaha never bothered to address, and never bothered to respond to the relentless pleas on the web forums. On the other hand, companies like EMU and Access (Virus), and people like Stephen Kay (Korg Karma), are so in touch with their customers, that product support has become my primary criteria when choosing new gear. I jumped at the Yamaha EX5 when it came out just from listening to the hype before it's release, but I will never buy anything from them again. Now I am looking at buying an EMU E4 sampler. Obviously this is a very capable device, but the only reason I considered it in the first place was from the excellent support given to the Command Stations. just my 2c -grimley --- In xl7@yahoogroups.com, "ByronIV" <byron@l...> wrote: > > > > > Aaron, although some folks are getting antsy about the new OS, I must > > declare that even with OS1.32, the XL-7 is in a league of its own.
