Emu XL-7 & MP-7 User's Group

Deffinatly not an oxymoron.  Mirage, Emax I, both less than $200 and 
sound great.  OF course they are limited in features but have analog 
filters and will add a lot of character.  Then there is the Yamaha 
A4000, goes for around $500 with extras (memory, drives etc).  Nice 
effects and filters, great buy.  Also look for Akai S1000/900 for 
very cheap (about $200). Cleaner than the Mirage/Emax if thats what 
you need.

Overall you'll probably want to get the A4000.  It does the most for 
the amount of money.  Get the other samplers when you want some extra 
grit.
