Re: [xl7] Command Station Suggestions, or Questions?

2001-11-05 by erik_magrini@Baxter.com

Wow... big chunk o' questions...

>>>I've got a lot of uses for this thing, thus so many questions :) <<<
Due to popular demand, we've placed all of our drummaps up on the web.
This is a two-level mapping, one from preset to 4 instruments (on the 4
layers, second screen in the preset edit menu), and then the web doc
handling the instrument to keymap mapping.
>>>Could you explain this one more? What about switching samples within a
kit, is it possible? <<<
Oh, but they can! Every pattern saves a snapshot of the current FX
settings and restores them at the beginning of every pattern. Simply edit
the master FX (including send routing) and save your pattern!
>>>Whew, I think I missed that one somehow! So if I'm playing live and
switch patterns without stopping playback, the effects will switch as
well? Why are the effects settings under the global screen, if they're
not global then? <<<

You can. Just scroll past the USER presets, and it will take you to the
XL-7 presets.

>>>I know you can still get access to the XL-7 presets by scrolling. It's
just odd that it jumps to the USER banks first, when the XL-7 ones are
displayed upon initially entering that screen. Just a quirk I guess,
sorry. <<<

http://www.emu.com/products/pdf/pdf_manuals/sysEx/protAudSysEx21.pdf Some of the new stuff isn't in there yet, but this should tide you by
for most things.

>>>Thanx! <<<

This is a real wish list item, but it would be nice if there was some way
you could easily see if you've got Presets that haven't been saved while
in Pattern mode. We're on to you... Take a look at the new feature list for 1.17...

>>>It doesn't mention this in the Emu newsletter, are there more features
coming in the new OS than what was included in the newsletter? <<<

Of course!

>>>Thanx for the quick reply Aaron! Much appreciated! <<<
