From E-MU's Website: Note sentence # 2
XL-1 Preset Banks for Your XL-7
These four banks are from the XTREME LEAD Sound Module. {WE HAVE
CONVERTED THE ID OF THESE XL-1 PRESETS} to the new XL-7 ID. These new
banks are saved as Standard MIDI Files. They will load into your RAM
banks (0-3) of your XL-7. Before loading, make sure you back up or
save any custom presets you have created. If your sequencer does not
read the file after downloading from Netscape, rename the file
extension to .mid.

Correct me if I'm wrong E-MU(Sean, Aaron, Scott) but what drK is
saying is that the **-7 will automatically convert the BEATs to kits?
If that's the case, then why the need for the new ID?
