Contest!

2003-01-13 by erik_magrini@Baxter.com

First of all I want to say thanx to all the people that were able to
upload a song for the contest. We actually had a few more entries than I
thought we would, which is a very good thing. The next phase will be for
everyone to start downloading the tunes and listening to them, and then to
pick your favorite tune. Keep in mind that this is about the best song in
terms of production, sounds, programming, etc, not necessarily your
favorite song. Try not to be put off by any tunes simply because they're
not the style you normally listen to! :) You can download all of the
tunes at:

http://EmuCS.iuma.com

Please keep in mind that IUMA will only display 10 songs on the main page
at once, so you might need to click on the "Album 1" link above the song
titles to get all of the songs.

Here's a list of all 12 songs that were submitted:

"Last Minute"
"El Verano Complicado"
"The Saints Of Saint Sloan"
"Drop n Change"
"No Emotion (A Bad Day)"
"Quantum Foam"
"How Things Crack (In A Purple Box Mix)"
"Composite Blue"
"Lumanescent"
"When Good Kartoons Go Bad"
"My Commute"
"WTF"

Once you have downloaded all of the songs and decided which ONE you think
is the best, you can vote by going to:

http://groups.yahoo.com/group/xl7/surveys?id=11019184

Voting will conclude on Sunday, January 26th and I will announce the
results on Monday, January 27th. Hopefully then everyone can pipe in and
say who did what tunes, as well as provide some information to the list on
how they created it. I'd also like to encourage everyone to take a second
and write down your thoughts, questions or criticisms about each tune as
you listen too. That way, once the voting is over we can provide some
feedback to everyone that worked so hard on getting a song up for the
contest.

OK, enough from me, let's start downloading and get those votes in!
