What is good sound?

Seeing as how records are a pure reproduction of sound waves and digital is
just dots along those waves, i would personally say that vinyl is generally
better. However, most music these days is produced with digital sources.
Records have a tendency to sound "warmer" than most cd's, that's going back
to sub bass feedback... And of course as Ravi points out, environment is
key... :)
