Re: [xl7] Re: realtime track mutes recording in song mode

You don't have to, you can specify a shorter pattern length for each Song
Step. So if you have an 8 bar pattern, you can specify that it should
only play the first bar before going to the next pattern step.

indeed, that was my point, when I have a pattern with a lenght of 8 bars
it is not convenient to make seperate "break" pattern of one bar just to
be able to mute the bass drum or something for 1 bar, that sucks, I just
want live realtime mute recording favourably with a quantise ability so
you can straight everything out in case you missed a mute by a
millisecond!

I think his point was trying to record the mutes live.
I really wish the xx-7's had this ability too.

  > You can create your song as long as those track mutes/unmutes are
at least one bar in length. In song record mode you insert patterns
one after another for any duration you like, but at least one bar (as
far as I can tell). If you can manage your song with track mutes of
at least a whole bar you can do exactly what you are asking. You just
insert that pattern over and over in it's varied form until you have
what you want. You may have to pencil it out as it is easy to get
lost a couple hundred bars down the line. Definetly in the manual
  under Song Record Modes. -S
