Your track which is assigned to output EXT 12a (note that tracks are
different than their channel assignments a common source of confusion in the
XX-7) actually has whatever MIDI was at the input during the recording.  The
rechannelize feature only redirects the input data.  It does not filter the
data.  So if you look in the track using the pattern event editor you will
actually see the MAQ data.

During playback whatever channel the track is assigned to is used to force
the recorded data to that channel.  This is why you are hearing the MAQ data
only on playback.

Unfortunately there is no easy fix for this problem other than to slave the
MAQ to the XX-7's MIDI clock.
