What about dumping the midi song out to Pro Tools, then using PT to trigger the XL just as a regular midi device / not in song or sync mode? Then I could bounce audio down stereo at a time and everything will be locked to the grid in PT ? >>>Are you using Song mode, or Pattern mode initially? If it was just pattern mode, I think this would be fine, that's how I used to do it in Cubase VST. I'd import the pattern and arrange it into the song in VST. If it's Song Mode you're using, then there might be issues. I don't think that the midi Song file contains the midi info that's in your Patterns, just the data on the Song track and references to Patterns and their mute settings at that step in the Song. Not too sure about this, but when I use E-Loader to grab my song files it's a very small file (smaller than even 1 Pattern), so I can't imagine it contains my Pattern data too. <<< Time consuming too...just thinking. You having any timing issues when doing multiple passes? >>>I'm using Cubase SX now, and the only problem I have with it, is that there's some outstanding issues with it's Midi Clock. So yeah, I have some drift too, but it's SX's fault, not the XL-7's. When I was using the VST version, it was locked up super tight. Steinberg's aware of this issue though, so hopefully I'll get a fix soon :) I used to use E-loader to get my pattern data, import it into VST, and then do my song arranging there. I could just mute the miditracks I did't want to record in that pass, and it worked great. Not too sure how I'm going to achieve this now. I would just grab all of the pattern data for my song and butt them up end to end to make one long song file out of all of the smaller pattern ones. However, I also am changing effects and Presets between different Patterns, so this probably won't work too well now. I think (for me at least), the only option is to create 16 seperate songs for each XL- 7 song, so that I can set the track mutes to just one channel for the whole length. Yeah, awkward at best! If there was a way to specify whether or not Songs contained the Pattern info too while uploading via E-Loader (hint hint Scott), then this would all be moot. <<< rEalm
