That is the first key (I apologize but I don't recall if the MPC2K uses MIDI Files as its native sequencer format or even has an import/exprt option for MIDI Files). Next you need to realize that your MP7 can either have patterns that are at most 32 bars or a song which has a single track (though that track can contain 16 MIDI channels). So you may need to do some pre-editing of the MPC sequences to make them work with the. BTW Type 0 MIDI FILES are pretty much what a XX-7 song is so exporting in that format would probably work. Once you done your edits and conversions you can transfer the songs and patterns to the XX-7 by using the Eloader program on your PC or Mac. if for some reason that is not possible then you will have to use plan "B" In some ways this may be the easiest. the idea is to simply record each of the MPC sequences into the MP7 using MIDI. Connect one of the MPC outs to MP7 input and send the one MP7 out to the MPC. Put the MPC in slave sync mode and have the MP7 output MIDI clock. load up each sequence in turn and do a multichannel record on the MP7. if you must record a sequence longer than 32 bars then you will have to record an XX-7 song. Sorry that all this seems so complex. It probably is easier to do than to write. the real issue is if your MPC sequences are exceeding the MP7's basic capabilities like pattern length of song track count. drk www.delora.com/music www.mp3.com/zdrk drk.iuma.com
