Remember that quick edit is more than just quick edit, it's also a realtime controller. Knob M, if you'll notice in the MIDI controller assign screen, is set to controller #1, which is Mod Wheel. For the factory XL-7 and MP-7 soundset, new software was written to add 4 more "virtual MIDI controllers, M-P. Since the World soundset was created before this new software, it doesn't have assignments for M-P, but it does respond to Mod Wheel. The Mod Wheel, however, has no "initial controller amount" in the preset, so changing presets doesn't set a value for Knob M, effectively leaving the Mod Wheel value at whatever it was. If you'd like, you can set the Knob M initial controller amount of the offending presets to 0, instead of "off", but you have to then save it to a user location. -Aaron --- Nick Rothwell <nick@...> wrote: > Anyone with the World ROM want to try this? > > This is utterly bizarre: the vibrato (or Knob M) quick-edit seems to > stay on if I go through a pile of the World ROM presets, gets turned > off for presets in another ROM (with the correct latching behaviour), > but comes back when I switch back to the World ROM.
