The XL-7 is a little weak in terms of > effects. Just to amplify on Nick's comment about the XX-7's lack of effects... There are two possible work arounds. The first is to use the extra four XX-7 outs to create additional effects sends and returns (these jacks act like inserts). Multi-effects boxes are pretty cheap now. This can help tremendously. The second is to think in terms of programming your effects into your patches using the various synth features. Before multi-effects were cheap and built into every synth this was standard practice and it is possible to simulate delay, reverb, echo, and other common effects. The XX-7's patch cord modulation scheme also leads you toward creating some pretty wild presets with different modulation effects. There's a lot under the hood that can sometimes fill the role normally left to an effects box. Not as immediate or accessible as your typical effects box but it can be a decent way of stretching the limited two effects units in the XX-7. drk www.delora.com/music www.mp3.com/zdrk drk.iuma.com
