I use my XL-7 that way with Cubase SX, is this the version you're using, or are you using VST? Here's what you'll need to do: - Connect a midi cable from the midi out of the MP-7, to the midi in of your sound blaster. Then connect a midi cable from the midi out of the sound blaster, to the midi in of the MP-7. - Turn off Local Control in the MP-7, set the MIDI clock to 0 (EXT), and tell the MP-7 to ignore Start/Stop commands. Then open Cubase's midi options and make sure you have the sound blaster ports set as the default. Also, you might want to set the sequencer resolution to 384 ppqn, since that's what the MP-7 uses too. - Use E-Loader to transfer a Pattern to your computer (assuming you're editing an existing Pattern). From within Cubase, you want to select "File > Import > Midifile". Naviagate to where you stored the midi pattern and double click on it. - The pattern should now show up in your Arrange Window, with each midi channel on it's own track, if not, select Explode by channel in VST. Double check that each track is going to the right midi port. - You can now edit to your heart's content in Cubase. - When you're done, select File > Export > Midi file, then choose Type 0. - Use E-loader to relaod it into the MP-7! rEalm (I haven't used VST in awhile, so you'll have to read the manual to find out where all the VST settings I mentioned are, sorry!) Hello all, I have had my MP7 now for about 6/7 months and have got to the point where I have lots of good components for a few decent tracks, in the form of saved patterns in my MP7. I have an external effects unit which i am messing around with aswell. However I want to sequence in Cubase. I have a Soundblaster Live Drive in my PC and cubase installed. Can anyone point me in the direction of some good instructions on how to get my MP& hooked up to cubase properly so i can drag some of the stuff over and put together some tunes in cubase? Is anyone else out there using the MP7 in this way? [Non-text portions of this message have been removed]
