You're misunderstanding. It says "16 Pattern tracks, One Sone track". That is 
saying that the main sequencer has 16 tracks and there is an additional Song 
track that holds all the data(realtime, mixer, etc) for the entire Song. You can 
indeed store 512 of these. Plus, you can actually sequence 64 tracks, not 16. 
You have 16 Internal A, 16 Internal B, 16 External A, and 16 External B. It's 
probably just E-mu's weird naming convention that threw you off. Hope that
