In my opinion the Clavia stuff doesnt sound too good. I had the nord mod and although it had a huge range of sounds, it was too plasticy sounding. Got an Arp Odyessey and MKS-80 and am much happier. They have much more bit and detail and sound thicker when needed. The clavia was soft and the low end was terrible. As far as the sherman goes, its awesome but not subtle. But it will deffinalty give you sounds no other filter can. If you were to take some of the drums or sounds from the xl7 and run them through the sherman into a sampler you would have a whole other sound palette. --- In xl7@yahoogroups.com, "lekanut <Lekanut@a...>" <Lekanut@a...> wrote: > Thanks for your answers and ideas.. > I agree with the warmth of clavia synths..i tried the nord lead3 > 3hours and i was impressed...but too expensive..(i tried the > supernova 2 and it sound very...good,pure,powerful and dynamic but > cold...like a triton..it's my opinion...for the moment...)i only said > that a xl7 with roms is more versatile because of the variety of > waveforms..and whith a good programming you can > sound...different..not only analog.. > I agree with you for use the lexicon effects > What do you think about the idea to run it on a sherman filterbank > for example? > (sorry for my bad english,i'm french..)
