It's all about everyone wanting the rights to it, no one is willing to let
another manufacturer design the "next new thing" without having a say in
it. I was hoping the yamaha's mLan would change all of this when I first
read about it a couple of years ago, though it doesn't seem to be going
that way sadly.

I started thinking about these things today. My question is this: Midi
is
a slow interface. Why are we still using it? Why doesn't someone come
out
with MIDI 2?
